Ensenada de Utría National Park is located in the department of Chocó along Colombia’s Pacific coast, encompassing both terrestrial and marine environments. It includes tropical rainforests, mangroves, and coastal beaches, offering an extraordinary convergence of ecosystems with significant biodiversity. The park’s terrain features pristine sandy beaches, estuaries, and dense, humid jungle ecosystems supporting numerous endemic plants and animals. It represents one of the most biologically diverse tropical coastal reserves in the western hemisphere. The park is an essential sanctuary for endangered species, including marine turtles that nest on its beaches and various threatened mammals inhabiting the dense forest.
